Ecommerce Dropship Tips: Integrating Social Media and Email Marketing

Email This

Anyone with a dropship or other ecommerce business is probably aware of social media marketing and email marketing, but did you know that the integration of the two could be enormously effective to help build and grow your sales and profits!

With social media marketing on the rise, some marketers predicted that the boom in the social side of things would sound the death knell for email marketing, or at least hurt it to some extent.

Actually, this isn’t true. The fact is that a savvy entrepreneur will use both marketing platforms so that they work hand in hand and enhance each other, thus magnifying the benefits of each.

Here are some ways to integrate social media marketing with email marketing:

  • Always include links and/or widgets for your social media pages in your marketing emails. This will make it much easier for readers to view your social media content and hopefully become a fan or follower. If you have a good freebie or contest of some sort in progress on your Facebook page, the readers that click through from a marketing email are likely to share with others, which broadens the scope of your email considerably and will help to grow your audience.

  • Take advantage of SWYN, or Share With Your Network. This is a link or widget that allows someone who received an email from you to share it with their social network. Think of the ripple effect possible with this! You could increase your exposure and build your brand, generate traffic, boost sales, add to your email marketing subscription list, gain fans and followers on your social sites…..and so on.

  • Don’t make the assumption that your email readers automatically know what to do when they see a widget or your social media icons. Spell it out. Make it clear. Tell the reader exactly what they are supposed to do next. For example, “Click Here to Follow Us on Twitter” or “Like Us on Facebook For a Chance to Win a Prize.”

  • Be sure to have an opt-in subscription handy for your email marketing on all of your social platforms. If you have links to your social platforms in your marketing emails and an opt-in subscription available on your social sites, this is a sort of cross pollination that should generate plenty of buzz.

Use these simple techniques to integrate your email and social media marketing efforts and watch your dropship ecommerce sales soar!
