Davison High School goes "green"

DAVISON — Two recent graduates are responsible for making Davison High School and official “green school”.

Christy Burke and Katie Hazel took the initiative to ampy up recycling and energy saving efforts for their alma mater.

They applied for the “green school” designation as part of the school’s marketing club and helped save the school over $140,000.

“It’s gratifying to see what shows from this,” said Hazel.  “All the hard work that everyone put in but also the entire school district put in working towards this.”

Davison is one of 12 schools in Genesee and Lapeer counties to receive the “green” designation.
